School Rewards: Putting money where it matters

For 70 years, we’ve considered supporting community organizations to be part of our corporate responsibility. We’re pleased to have been in a position to lend a hand to more than 100 organizations throughout our years of service. Today, we’re especially proud to introduce our School Rewards program, a system that allows us to partner Preferred and Preferred 50 checking customers to directly benefit schools in our area.

When you open a Preferred or Preferred 50 checking account, you’ll be invited to select a Greenwood County school to receive an annual donation from Countybank. Here’s how it works:

  • Once a year, Countybank will calculate the year-to-date average balance on your account and pool it with the average balances of all other Preferred and Preferred 50 account holders who chose the same school.
  • Countybank will then contribute .01% of those combined annual average balances. For example, if the combined total among Preferred and Preferred 50 account holders is $1 million designated to one school, that school will receive $1,000.
