Countybank helps "Spotlight" Greenwood County Public Schools.

GREENWOOD, SC - Countybank Foundation recently made a $2,500 donation to the Education Enrichment Foundation to assist in the production of "In the Spotlight", a showcase of the visual and performing arts talents of Greenwood County's public school students. According to Claire Kuhl executive director of the Education Enrichment Foundation, the event was originally intended as a fundraiser, this spectacular event has grown into an annual production and has been the highlight of Greenwood County's school calendars for the past nine years. "Gifts of this magnitude are rare and very exciting. We are honored that Countybank Foundation has chosen to help us promote excellence in public education for Greenwood County," said Kuhl. "Thanks to gifts like this one, we can continue our programs that encourage teachers, enlist community involvement, and enable enrichment activities in local classrooms."

"Serving on the Board of Directors for the Education Enrichment Foundation has given me a wonderful opportunity to see first hand what our teachers and students in the public school systems need from the Greenwood community." said Rebecca Steifle, vice president of Education Enrichment Foundation and assistant vice president of Countybank. "I am thrilled to be part of an organization that supports our public schools," said Ken Finch, president of Countybanc Insurance a subsidiary of Countybank "In the Spotlight not only allows for the Greenwood community to be witness to the multitude of talent found in our public school systems, but also creates an opportunity for our communities to join as one to celebrate our children."

The event includes both stage performances and visual art performance. The Museum will host the art exhibit this year which will be held on March 3 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The stage performance will be held in the Finis Horne Arena on the Lander University Campus on Saturday March 19, at 7:00 pm.
